Exterior

This shop has been a fixture in Iiyama for years, reaching its 100th anniversary in 2013.

Japanese style sweets are baked fresh every morning, often selling out by early evening. The crispy "karinto manju" (steamed and fried bun with bean paste) is especially popular, and created with all-homemade ingredients.  Many of the sweets are named for local landmarks, so they make great souvenirs.

The shop itself is decorated with dolls and traditional Japanese cloth, so be sure to check out the interior while your pastries are prepared.
