Restaurant Kamakura Village
The Iiyama Restaurant Kamakura Village is made up of 20 Kamakura huts created from snow, and is open for a limited time from late-January to late-February every year.
You can warm up inside a Kamakura with a Noroshi Nabe, a local specialty hot pot made with Shinshu Miso, locally grown mushrooms and vegetables.
At night, lanterns illuminating the Kamakura create a beautiful fairytale-like atmosphere that is perfect for family, friends and lovers alike.
※Reservations for Restaurant Kamakura Village are essential.
※Please feel free to visit the Kamakura Shop and play in the sledding area.
Enjoy our local specialty 'Noroshi Nabe'
Noroshi Nabe is a hot pot made with a Nagano Miso base and locally grown vegetables.
It also contains Iiyama's specialty 'Miyuki Pork' and popular local mushrooms such as honshimeji, enoki, and king trumpet.
The name Noroshi Nabe originates from the Sengoku Period (1467-1603AD) when Daimyo Uesugi Kenshin established signal fires (Noroshi) on nearby Mt Kuroiwa.
Kamakura Shrine
In the middle of the broad, white snowscape of the Kamakura village stands the bright red tori gate of the Kamakura Shinto Shrine.
The snow hut is a genuine shrine that houses a sacred object, a divine rope known as a Shimenawa used to ward off evil, and an offering box.
You don't need a reservation to enter the shrine, so please feel free to visit any time.
