After the destruction of the Takeda clan, Takeda Shingen's great nephew Shozen escaped to northern Nagano, eventually building Korenji temple. Korenji is also the home temple of Takeda Unshitsu, known as an artist-monk and learned priest.One of Nagano's most famous painters, Unshitsu's notable works include "Seiryoku Sansuizu (Illustration of the blue-green landscape)" and "Kanu Zazou (Image of Kanu)," part of the Shinano Art Museum collection.
