Lake Nozomiko is just 5 minutes by car from the central Madarao Kogen area. The perimeter trail offers gorgeous views of the lake, and can be enjoyed by anyone. (Approx. 1 hr) Huge hazelnut and beech trees stand by the lakeside, and clusters of skunk cabbage dot the landscape with white.
Starting from Lake Nozomiko, Mt. Kenashi and Numanohara Marsh are an easy hike away. In summer, the area offers boat rentals and fishing, with snowshoe tours and other outdoor adventuring in winter.
