Iiyama cityIiyama’s Art Museums & Resource Center
Nestled on the shore of Lake Hokuryu, the archive displays toys and dolls from the region, as well as everyday goods from previous eras. The building itself, originally constructed during the Edo period, was moved to Lake Hokuryu from its original location below Iiyama Castle. Visitors interested in history and architecture should be sure to check out the distinctive thatched roof. Outside of the galleries, the inner building has been reconstructed in the style of a period merchant house, making this a great place to experience the feeling of "traditional Japan."
