【From June 1, 2026】Introduction of the Accommodation Tax in Nagano Prefecture

This notice is for visitors planning to stay overnight in Iiyama City.

Nagano Prefecture will introduce a new Accommodation Tax starting Monday, June 1, 2026.
The tax will be used to fund tourism promotion initiatives, including the enhancement of tourism resources and improvements to the visitor environment.

【Overview of the Accommodation Tax】
◆Effective Date: From June 1, 2026
◆Who Is Subject to the Tax:
Guests staying at accommodations in Nagano Prefecture, including ryokan, hotels, simple lodging facilities, and private lodging (minpaku)
◆Tax Amount:
For accommodation charges of 6,000 yen or more per person per night (room-only rate, excluding tax):
・200 yen per person per night (for the first three years after implementation)
・300 yen per person per night (from 2029 onward)
※Accommodation charges of less than 6,000 yen per person per night are not subject to the accommodation tax.

The accommodation tax will be collected by accommodation facilities from guests and remitted to Nagano Prefecture.
